Funny how quickly things progressed, 8.61 is barely respectable on that combo now-a-days.

I dunno what's up with him.

8s is fast, really fast, any 8sec GT-R is fast... but the platform has progressed and 8s are becoming more attainable than they were before, still require a lot of work to get there.

if I were deciding on a gtr I'd either go fbo or high 8gtr. anything in between just doesn't register any milestone ... unless its a track/circuit build.

Don'r forget that combo included 18" drag radials.  Not many people going faster than 8.6 on 18's.

I'll bet nobody can name three people who have under 8.7 on GT35 and 18" DRs

Here's another trivia question. How many people have gone under 8.9 on a GT 30 with 18 inch drag radials?

I was on 18 inch drag radials. Chris was as well but I don't think he went under 8.9. I could be misremembering though.

Damn you are quick!  I was editing it as soon as I entered it. I was on 17 radials.

My phone goes ape-shit whenever someone quotes my post. Your car was hooking great on those 17s, BTW.

And?

I just think it's funny to say it's "barely respectable" when I'm pretty sure the only car to go 8.6 or faster on 35r's and 18's since then was the same guy in the article.  The move to 17's and then 15's advanced this platform immensely.

Thanks.  I can't remember what the best was on the 18's, 1.42 maybe.
