Great write up and boy that power curve!
Told my better half that we need to consider moving west, or at the very least build a new GT-R lol.
I really hope you get a lot of joy out of the car and it runs like a charm Droptopp.

On a stock frame Tim - crazy to think that and I’m betting I could have picked up another 75-100hp going to 12 injectors.

Why is it when you get turn onto an on ramp to a highway do these cars make you feel like a fat kid with cake ?

Wait till ya go Motec 12 injector and get a better intercooler...hope ya got a 4 inch exhaust...dude why do you think I like cake so much.....because I’m that fat kid

E78 - Map 3 35psi : autoshift @ 8100 rpm, full tank of gas, groceries in the trunk, 255lb driver.

No antilag - 2nd gear roll on at 40.

Absolutely smooth and flawless.

I know you kept some of it out of the tune and rightfully so. Thing is quick as it sits and anything faster really don’t need it putzing around town. I’d really like it to last for a long time.

Second gear is only 50% IIRC.

Remember I said that when I tell you to turn it up next year or I ask you to have Steel Toys pick it up for the injectors and intake lol.

And seriously, thank you, can’t tell you how happy I am with it and how you saved me from jumping ship ...

How do you like that wheel/tire setup for what you have now?

It’s fine, the tune is dialed in so I don’t know how much is the tire setup and how much is the tune, but totally uneventful.

Floor it and point it - shifts on its own - so smooth I had a venti americano in the cup holder. Pulls hard and just goes.

Edit : I do prefer a 20” R888 setup but I think the A9 was probably the limit of those on the street otherwise you’ll need to detune in lower gears.

Yes I love my 20” TEs and the feel of R888s on the street but trying to do any sort of aggressive power roll was sometimes difficult on the tires around 1000whp. Putting it into 50/50 sometimes helped but I’d rather not strain the fwd where wheel spins possible.
The plus side is 18” and radials are more comfortable . I think I’m going to have to get a set of 18s again. The R888R are supposedly better but that’s a decent amount of money to risk

Don’t get me wrong - I’ve done the whole 720s (and not talking McLaren) on the highway in a rwd so I don’t mind the MT’s all around.

I think the current setup is perfect.

Keeps me from doing this anyways
