Here’s a quick rundown of another project we just recently finished up. Last year we built this car for a customer in the northeast. The build was already spectacular… Pro1700, TSM 4.1 stroker, and on Motec. The customer enjoyed it for the season and then decided he wanted to do a few upgrades over the winter months. He reached out to me asking for ideas at just the right time
ETS and I had been doing some development on some new Xona based turbo kits and had settled on a new setup that would spool like a Pro1700 but make power more like a Pro1900. I told my customer, Carl, about this and he was all about having the first kit. We also decided to upgrade the brakes to the AMS carbon units as he had carbons on other exotics and enjoyed them.
Admittedly we have a problem here at TSM; we just don’t like to leave things alone. We’re usually testing different turbine housing/wheel combinations that “should work” or trying some random stuff just to see what type of drive pressure changes vs. power and boost we come up with. I guess maybe that is what makes it fun for me so we’re going to keep doing it.
After trying some combinations we settled on what is now known as the new and improved Pro1900 kit! This kit has a Xona based turbo combined with all the amazing flow characteristics of the ETS Pro Series turbo systems. What I can tell you guys is that we gave up about…oh I don’t know, maybe 50rpm of spool and picked up GOBS of power. I will attach the dyno graph but one thing to note is that we never turned the new Pro1900 all the way up on the dyno. The day we had it on we ended up having dyno issues and simply got too busy to strap it back down. The graph attached is the Pro1900 vs. the Pro1700 but at 5-6psi less boost.
Right before the car left Carl opted to put the icing on the cake and add one of our TSM Billet intake manifolds! In our opinion the whole car is now perfectly sublime.
Carl has been enjoying the car now for a couple weeks and if you are following his thread he could not be happier.
Enjoy her in good health my friend! Appreciate the loyal support as always.
