On stock manifold turbos it's pretty hard to make 1400hp reliably without kinda crossing your fingers on the stock crank. The reason is you have to make a good amount of torque to make that power given the small housings.
BUT, what people don't realize is that a 1300hp stock manifold car well tuned will SMOKE a kit car at 1400hp because it's got power everywhere and the kit will make more power only toward the top end to keep the torque out of it.
That is unless the tuner of the kit car is throwing the kitchen sink at it and just praying the crank holds.
That said... people say this a lot... but why would you ever want stock spool making 1000tq? You would have to turn the thing so far down to keep the tires under it that it wouldn't be usable anyway. If anyone has ever driven an ELITE Plus car and thinks it needs to spool faster they are in my opinion crazy. We have to pull the hit out of them already just to keep them going straight on the street..... on the track who cares about spool. Stock spool on say an ELITE Plus would mean 1000tq at like 3k... lol that is absolutely unusable and worthless.
EDIT: Boost RESPONSE is a different story, but the stock manifold cars respond SO fast that I'm not even sure a stock turbo would be much faster... which wouldn't matter because within a half a second the ELITE Plus would be GONE!!! So who cares.
