Just a background, The car is a
Simply built 3.8L Alpha 12
Alpha brushless dual pump system
stock intake manifold and throttle bodies
The issue I have been facing is:
random fuel cut (or what seemed like it to me) at high RPM's, the car would cut off at 6k, 6250. 7k or never! Basically random
This has been going on for sometime now, and I was told it very well could be the Alpha fuel system acting up. Not sure how true is this, but I was told by a very reputable shop that the system is not great when using with more than 1 fuel type/map?
Temps got hot here, and I don't want to floor the car to test it because I don't want any serious damage just to figure this issue out
The second issue, which started recently, and the one I'm really worried about:
I would drive the car around for an hour or so (hot weather), then all the sudden, while cruising at 60-70mph, I feel the car falls on its face almost like I lift off the throttle.
If I give it a bit more gas, it feels like its slowing down even more and dying
If I lift off and give it a bit of throttle it starts accelerating normally
Tried to push it hard once or twice while this was happening and it seems to do just fine!
Temps are reasonable, cooling system is doing its job, and fuel pressure is good and not falling down
I am mostly curious if anyone had the 2nd issue happen to them, and what was the cause/cure!
I really want to work the last few kinks out of the car before we put it on a dyno and get it fine tuned
