Hello everyone

Just a background, The car is a

Simply built 3.8L Alpha 12

Alpha brushless dual pump system

ID1300x injectors

stock intake manifold and throttle bodies

The issue I have been facing is:

random fuel cut (or what seemed like it to me) at high RPM's, the car would cut off at 6k, 6250. 7k or never! Basically random

This has been going on for sometime now, and I was told it very well could be the Alpha fuel system acting up. Not sure how true is this, but I was told by a very reputable shop that the system is not great when using with more than 1 fuel type/map?

Temps got hot here, and I don't want to floor the car to test it because I don't want any serious damage just to figure this issue out

The second issue, which started recently, and the one I'm really worried about:

I would drive the car around for an hour or so (hot weather), then all the sudden, while cruising at 60-70mph, I feel the car falls on its face almost like I lift off the throttle.

If I give it a bit more gas, it feels like its slowing down even more and dying

If I lift off and give it a bit of throttle it starts accelerating normally

Tried to push it hard once or twice while this was happening and it seems to do just fine!

Temps are reasonable, cooling system is doing its job, and fuel pressure is good and not falling down

I am mostly curious if anyone had the 2nd issue happen to them, and what was the cause/cure!

I really want to work the last few kinks out of the car before we put it on a dyno and get it fine tuned

Kind Regards,
AJ

I will post them today, waiting for my buddy to send me the logs as my AP is in a different country right now  :D

Yes the car does have a fuel pressure sensor, and the fuel did not go down so it doesn't seem like it's the culprit

My bad, I will post the logs as soon as I get them

I’m on the dual brushless pumps and have not had any issues but I am on 6 ID 2000s.

Sorry if stupid question, but did you upgrade the fuel lines ?

Injector setup issue ?

Injector setup issue ?

I have heard a lot of people complaining about the brushless system. The comment is it is a great system, but tricky to calibrate and can cause issues, especially if the car is tuned with multiple fuels

All the lines in the car are updated, I have the Alpha rail, line, and regulator kit (we then switched the regulator to what T1R uses in their system, thinking the one I had was problematic). The lines to and from the tank are also upgraded to braided lines and AN fittings

The car is still a 6 injector car, and running a 1300cc ID set

Not sure what can cause such an issue, but I think the consistent fuel pressure rules out a fuel cut, no?

I will post the log hopefully soon and maybe that would give a better idea. Just wanted to know if anyone faced the same issue

The approach I'm taking, is air, spark, fuel

What can go wrong and cause these symptoms (so I can check)

Here are the last set of logs that I and the shop did trying and replicating the issue

Not sure exactly which logs show the issue, but the last bunch are mostly when the issue was happening, some were replicating it while cruising, and some were pushing the car a bit harder where it does not act up

It seems that it only happens after driving the car in hot weather, and sitting in traffic

So it seems like (something) heats up, and starts acting up

We have a feeling, if fueling isn't causing this issue, that it may be throttle(s) related?

What should we look for, test or replace?

Anyone that had and resolved this issue, please enlighten me!

I believe the pumps are putting out wayyy too much pressure/flow for the regulator to keep up. At idle/cruise you're at about 3-4 bar of fuel pressure, at 7psi of boost you are at 7bar, which is close to the max pressure the injectors can handle
