Primary objective: Address some of the major criticisms of the GTR.
Secondary objective: Retain reliability as a daily driven vehicle.
-Improve top end power and retain transient response
Picking a shop:
I am a physician at a community hospital. I cant have this thing break down on the way to an emergency in the OR. Making this thing bulletproof is a top priority. The following requirements were mandatory.
-Reliability: Must be able to drive this thing with 900-1000 whp on a daily basis with the occasional 1100+ whp on kill. Motor and trans will be built to handle this power. Regular maintenance is expected.
-Drivability: Must be relatively quiet, idle smooth, shift smooth and retain transient response. Must be able to drive this thing around town and on the highway and be able to carry a conversation with the passenger. Must be able to drive in auto mode without comfort issues as I would in a stock or FBO GTR.
-Reputable. Goes for both the shop and the parts. Doug has worked on my GTR from the get go. Always willing to help, goes above and beyond consistently. Disassembled hundreds of GTRs. Knows his stuff.
-Local. Need the flexibility and accessibility to address unforeseen issues on short notice.
-Warranty. Make the power? Great! How about support? Doug warranties his motors.
-Human error. This is probably one of the most important considerations. Want a perfect GTR? Dont modify it. Want a heavily modified... near perfect GTR? Pick a shop that has experience. Repetition is key. If youve seen Doug work you know that he is about as close as youre going to get to a robot. We read reviews. We hear about issues with ALL shops. Guess what? If youre human, you make mistakes. Question of course is how egregious and what is done to address them. Integrity is everything in this business. Doug quickly points out any collateral damage, (all minor up to this point), and offers to replace/repair no questions asked. No surprises. He has NEVER given me a reason to question his integrity and work ethic. This is about my personal experience with Doug. If you have something negative to say, please leave it out of this thread.
Built motor start up and idle vid:
Doug dialed this thing in. Feels almost stock driving around town. Idle is perfect. No stumbles. Trans is super smooth. No jerkiness whatsoever at low speed. Aside from the transmission whine, (which sounds awesome in my opinion), cant tell this thing is built. Vid to follow.

This is an official build thread. For my impressions on TSM elites on stock motor and trans that eventually evolved into a build thread refer to the following:
10/28/2017: Parts ordered
08/31/2018: Bulletproof received the GTR for installation of Overtake and Varis dry carbon panels.
09/06/2018: Aragosta type SA coilovers with cup lift kit ordered
04/30/2019: Final inspection
