As a fan of tuner cars I don’t like to see this. This would cause the closure of all gas stations soon after 2040. If not closing they would at least remove gasoline from the station and only have chargers for ev cars. This would make it a PITA to daily a petro car because you would have to source your own fuel by the barrel and even regular gas will become very expensive. Worse yet many/all states will follow soon afterwards.

That’s old news in Europe. UK already said no petrol cars after 2030. Volvo is not making any petrol cars after 2020.

It’s coming whether you like it or not. Get a 200 gal tank to keep in the garage and be your own filling station. Petrol cars will become show/race/hobby vehicles only. You won’t be dailying a petrol car 20 years from now.

No no no....

Volvo is not making PETROL ONLY cars after 2020...

And having been introduced to the concept with my i8, which is subsequently traded for a volvo xc90 T8, the idea is great.  When it's warm, the engine never fires up at all if I'm just going around town.  It's great to motor petrol free.

In the words of Jay Leno, the regular people have to convert to electric/hydrogen/natural gas cars to save the petrol for the enthusiasts.

It may make gasoline more expensive in the long run.  Maybe.  Maybe not.  Maybe less.  We'll see.
