The transient boost on a Plus on a road course is actually really hard to manage.

If it were me I would build a 4.1 Pro1400 for the Road course for sure! Don’t get me wrong it’s doable to manage the plus but I’m not a horrible driver and it’s a hand full.

Well no, the graph I posted the 1700 was on a 4.1 and the 1400 was on a 3.8

If they were both the same displacement the 1400 would out spool it.

Pro1400 on a road course.... jeez... maybe the better option but you better evaluate if you have the stones to run that at the track, haha.    Would be a hell of a ride.

Hah!  I'm up for that challenge, plus as you know way better than I, you can always tune around it.  Not to thread-jack, but I always imagine a tune with a super flat torque curve set at somewhere between 800 and 900 ft/lb, and then using the 'Mark' button on the wheel to go into an over-boost mode.  Ie, you get to a straight and while holding down the mark button, (or after pressing it until you touch the brake or whatever) you get the max power/torque tune.  At some point I'll have the funds to do this.

It was introduced back in 2011 I think with the Spec V. But I honestly do not see the Benefit since I would rather have the boost controlled by the ECM and throttle rather than introducing a button into the mix

It can be done pretty easily with the torque control on a Motec if we wanted to which is available on the steering wheel switches.
