New midpipe is done and running in the car. The car idles quiet and also drives quiet so I am pleased that it doesn't sound like my dang EVO that has straight 3.5" turbo back.
Here is a pic of the 100 cell CAT.
I first had to remove the old turn down tube so I could get the rear portion of the exhaust onto my chop saw. I also knew that a new turn down pipe would be required as the CAT is larger in diameter. After cutting it off with a 4" angle grinder and finally the Sawz All I used a sanding pad on the angle grinder to flatten the surface and break all the welds.
I then had to cut out the rear portion of the midpipe to accommodate the CAT. Next steps was to get jiggy wid it.
After a quick test fit into the car it was time to weld it all up. I had forgotten that when I made the midpipe I ran out of 0.032" wire so I had to use some thick stuff I had, which sucks for trying to make pretty welds.
