I bought a Race Intercooler and im looking into options to maximize air flow to the area behind the crash beam. Im leaning towards doing a custom shroud (as some other members have done) but would it worth the hassle?

What about ducts? Are them a better option?

Curious as to this myself.  SP Engineering does this mod on quite a few of their customers. For sure one thing is clear, it cannot hurt.

Don't have data yet, but you can see how I modified the crash beam.

I got inspired by 240z and did my own "simplified" version. Not as as good as his, but hope it does the same job

So i basically made some space for air and closed its path on top. Did not wanted to solder anything to the nice ETS Race IC, so I used the crash beam instead.

Did not hat time to do sides to avoid air leaving and force every bit of air through the IC. That ill do next time I have to remove the bumper.

Im running this huge IC with stock turbos @ 21psi. I did not saw any performance improvement/loss whatsoever. My times from the 1/8mile to the 1/4mile remained the same (street IC vs Race IC). I was not able to increase timing more, so I assume the Street IC was efficient enough for my FBO setup.

But since im planing to do a build soon, it is not a waste after all.

it looks good and I like how you angled the cut on the bumper.
