I made some progress this week, resulting in my new Sparco Pro ADV drivers' seat getting mounted in the car tonight. I chose this seat because it has side-impact protection for your head, and the overall dimensions are very close to the Evo2 that we have been using for a couple of years. The install was a bitch, and I had to modify my seat base, sliders, and brackets in order to get this thing lower in the car. Headroom has always been a problem for me since I'm 6'6" - so I wanted to really get this thing as low as possible within reason. The end result was about a 2" gain in headroom.
Getting the seat installed was necessary before we can start on the cage. After all, we have to be able to pinpoint headroom and harness bar height, as well as the exact location and angle of the main hoop. The good news is that I should be able to start on the cage next week!
