A few months back a few people had posted questions online regarding a little-known part listed on the Varis Japan website. This part is a special version of their popular "Euro Edition" GT-Wing that's used on their demo car and quite a few circuit GT-Rs in Japan. The standard wing featured on their demo car uses special center-mounted stands which require modification to the OEM trunk to be installed (new holes must be drilled, and the OEM wing holes need to be filled the trunk must be refinished).
As an alternative option to the center-mounted wing, Varis decided to offer their Euro Edition GT-Wing with bases and brackets which are located over the sides of the trunk in the same location as the OEM wing stands in an effort to utilize the factory mounting holes. Funny enough, when we previously had asked for photos of this configuration, Varis advised us that no customer had ordered it yet, and as such they couldn't provide any detailed installed photos. Fortunately earlier this year, we had a local customer who took the plunge and ordered the wing. Since it just came in a few weeks back, he brought in his GT-R for us to install it last week. As this wing had gotten so much attention, we wanted to share some detailed photos of it installed on an actual car.
While the wing is produced in carbon fiber, our customer liked the paint-matched look, and as a result, he had us paint the wing plane red to match the exterior of his GT-R.
Varis actually offers two versions of this wing; one with a carbon wing plane and fiberglass stands, and another with a carbon fiber wing plane and carbon fiber stands.
