I am obviously bigger than 4 inches and referring to exhaust diameter piping.

Like you may or may not know, Kline makes some beautiful inconel exhaust systems but not a 4" one for the GT-R.

I had heard from Steve Theodore (where has that guy been), that Felix at Kline was very receptive and great to deal with.

I asked him about making a 4" exhaust with valvetronic controls to help with noise levels and CF Nismo like exhaust tips.

With a quick email, he responded he would be STOKED to take on the challenge as they haven't had to make a 4" exhaust before!

SWEET!

about the exhaust, this seems like it's been a quite the project already.

Here is what he said about getting 4" diameter inconel.

We are almost finished with the 4 inch Inconel material, which is quite a mission to achieve J

There is a single US company that makes army stuff which can produce it. We had to reverse engineering and make it work in house. And it works!

We want in January to have the parts ready to go and get the local car in.
I will send pics soon!

wow! only a single company that has 4" inconel piping!?! CRAZY!

also an update on the 4th.

I will definitely keep you updated. The aluminium molds are being made and also the tools for bending 4 inch

I hope to have some pics very soon.

LOL...too excited!  Sorry I don't have any pictures to post with actual parts but I wanted to update the community about this unique part.

One of the things I really like is the valvetronic exhaust.  Kline has this awesome controller that fits in the cigarette lighter!  I'm old and can't stand loud exhaust.

and finally, the render of the Nismo CF tips!

Nice. Should be awesome. I'm curious what advantages inconel has over Ti, but I guess I should just do some research myself. :)

for exhaust not much, better heat tolerances and retention and durability....supposedly titanium can fatigue as an exhaust but probably beyond the life of the car.

It's also can be made very thin walled and light....I saw on the internet where a 0.5mm wall thick inconel pipe is 17% lighter than a titanium one at 1mm thickness.

But I have a feeling mine will be heavier than the Overtake that it will be replacing.

doesnt JCR take a sheet of the best grade of inconnel and roll it into a pipe? I'm not sure if its mandrel bent or not. 4" mandrel benders are expensive, but the best way. pie cuts look cool tho.

inconnel is better than ti IMHO. harder to work with/weld. there is an old thread I made about all the advantages. they are better for downpipes than titanium. titanium would just get too hot as a downpipe.

Super cool project. Kline has great customer service. I was emailing with Felix about doing an exhaust when I had a R8, and was impressed.

I bet it will sound awesome. And best of all - you can shut it up on the freeway with the valvetronic

Yeah man. I'm stoked about the CF tips. Kline has a set coming to me as soon as they are made. Can't wait!

respect the effort, 4inch Inconel is no joke. wanted to do it for years, uk is the inconel motorsport central and no one can do this size

90mm downpipes and midpipe are around $5000. i cant see this having much change from $10k

I'll try my best to post some sound clips.

I'm also a bit worried about emissions and wonder if I should get something with their cats so I can bolt on and off.  Texas has implemented a new emissions testing which  I still "pass" ;)

but wonder if it will get tougher in the future.
