The process has begun. Engine is coming out for installation of GTX 2867 (gen 2) turbos. Made by SiR. Looking for improved transient response and spool time primarily. A little extra power as a by-product. These should be MUCH better than OEM NISMO turbos. Stock motor, Shep stage 2 (already in w/ Nordring Drexler diff). Also replacing the bell housing with the latest iteration...

TSM Billet Crank 4.1 w/ CP billet pistons, TSM Elite Prime turbos, TSM Wet Sump Oling upgrade, flex fuel, ETS mid and down pipe, STM titanium axle back, STM race FMIC, ID2000’s, Shep One K with drop gears and all the goodies., DS Axles, Volk Saga 18” 10/12” (MT ET Streets), Advan GT Premium 20” R888. 1450+ hp / 1210+ tq

Old setups : Alpha 9 w/ AMS 3.8, GTX3582R Gen II w/ AMS 4.1 billet crank, GTX3582R Gen II w/ AMS 4.0 big bore billet crank and of course FBO E85.

I haven’t updated in a while. I’ve had the car back for a couple of weeks now. Been enjoying driving it, and fine tuning “the tune” on the street.

Car is quicker, but I would not say leaps and bounds. Gained about 50WHP. The notable improvement is throttle response and boost build up at tip in. Takes much less time to come on, and you have boost at much lower RPMs. The improvement in responsiveness is there, which was my primary driver.

While it was being worked on put the last piece of my Spec V puzzle with the actual Challenge produced Nissan Spec V subwoofer housing! Saving those fucking grams! Also installed the newest iteration of the bell housing as a preventative measure. Sounds completely different. No more clunk vibration, more of a smaller high frequency rattle. Feels less “loose”.

I’ve got another 30-40HP locked in my exhaust set up. NISMO downpipes (catted) and factory exhaust are holding me back. I’ve got AMS down pipes, and AMS mid pipe (with 100 cell cats for smell) on order. Going to mate up to an HKS Spec R Ti exhaust.

Once that’s on next week, a bit more street tuning, and DONE!

In my older age I’ve grown to appreciate the OEM nature of special cars. My car is currently with my friend and mechanic who is putting the engine bay back to stock. Basically I’m going to run the interncooler, oil coolers, upgraded turbo/trans, and quiet exhaust set up. Full stealth. Only the stuff that matters. I’ll have the car back in about 10 days. Also was able to secure a set of the 150 NISMO BBS wheels produced. This and one other OEM type surprise will complete my OEM+ set up.

Cool Joe. I've fantasised about modifying all the stock bits, like cutting the OEM piping and welding in alu underneath to make it bigger but look factory, and running a different manifold but with the OEM cover over it etc etc.

Something nice about the OEM look I agree.
