They were using the original quick release harnesslesses...am fairly sure lots also had the special multi-use steel dashboards that don't require replacement when you hit them with your face.

all those cars look so easy to flip, you have to be doing something dumb to flip these days (most of the time anyways).

I had a chance to buy it from the 901 racers a couple of years ago but couldn't pony up the $275K...to bad its a piece of automotive history.
