Good morning gents (and a lady or two probably)

I wanted to write a little recap of the weekend we had in the North Georgia mountains hanging out with Blake and the guys from WannaGoFast.   The event as always was just a ton of fun.  The staff at WannaGoFast put on a great event no matter where we are.  Always very organized and well run...they do a great job trying to make sure everyone has an equally good time.  Talking to Blake yesterday it was a record breaking weekend for attendance which is awesome!

Me and the TSM team headed up to Clayton on Friday evening to drop off the rig and head to the mountain cabins we rented for ourselves and a few customers.  I personally love the setting of the GA half mile, behing in the mountains, grilling at the cabin at  night is just a good time.

Saturday morning we lined up the camp… we had a great showing of cars and customers up there. I think off the top of my head 8 GT-Rs, a couple of TT R8s, Alpha9 997 Porsche, Vipers, the new 2015 STI shop car (did 121 lol) and a few other Subys as well.

Saturday it was a beautiful day but very hot. For those of you that haven’t been to this event it is a somewhat difficult venue to go fast at. Not only are you at elevation (I think around 3k feet) but the track is hard to get traction on. The facility is beautiful, the landscape is amazing but there are hurdles when it comes to making a car super fast there. Not to mention that it was HOT on Saturday. I didn’t personally check the DA but someone told me it was over 6k ft mid day. Hats off to any car honestly even in the 190s with those conditions.

Through the day we got to watch the Heffner cars of Prestige Auto work though dialing in the cars and make several passes in the low 210+ area which was extremely impressive! There were also a couple of UGR cars there, one being Dustin’s X+ whatever he has done to it LOL and one of the owners R8. Those cars were also extremely fast going into the 210+ times as well. Vengeance Racing also had a couple impressive passes with some crazy TT Vettes going high 190s and even hitting 201 on Sunday! Congrats on that BTW Ron and the Vengeance crew.

As for the TSM crew we threw down pretty hard Saturday. All of the GT-Rs were customer driven this year which I was very proud of! Doug (tuner) and I spent the morning helping customers by dialing in the Motec TQ limiting model for the crazy track and conditions to not only keep them safe but make the cars perform consistently! During the day Saturday we had FIVE customer driven cars go 195-199 multiple times in a row!

I have to say that watching customer after customer scream across the line going 195+ and then greeting them at the timing tower was simply an awesome experience! These guys were having so much fun enjoying beating on their cars over and over again it was making them giddy. I was happy to be there to experience it with them and very proud to be their builder.

Sunday however it was time to break into the 200s. As some of you know we have been knocking on the door with Unabomber’s car for a few events now…each time the 200mph mark just slightly beyond our reach. I think the TX WannaGoFast Unabomber drove his car for 4 or 5 199.xx passes in a row without being able to crack the number. Well needless to say we were both over it! That car is simply crazy stupid fast for what it is but circumstances and conditions never lined up for him to make that magic pass.

Sunday morning it was time! I pulled the logs from the day before and assessed where it could be safely turned up a little. With the slightly cooler air Sunday morning I was confident the car would dip into the 200s with zero changes but I wasn’t about to take any chances! It was time…this damn thing was going 200mph! The car was holding traction in 3rd very well so I let the tire have a little more coming into the middle of the gear as well as threw another 2psi of boost at her (35psi of boost total we ran 33psi max all day Saturday)

We waited until the fog lifted and the track had a few passes on it and Brian took the car down the runway…heating up the tires on the way to the start finish you could just hear the car was ready to do some work! He was running with another customer that had been running in the mid 190s so it was destine to be a great race when they flew past the finish line. Off the line they came, I could see Unabombers car wiggling a little in the fist 3 gears as I was expecting having let the Motec put a little more power to the ground down there…when he grabbed 6th gear coming at us I could tell right then that this was going to be the pass!

The two cars screamed across the finish…202.33 blinked onto the screen on Unabomber’s side and 198.5 for my other customer Jason! I was so excited I literally started jumping up and down yelling!

Rolling back into the pits Brian was literally jumping up and down in his seat! ALL smiles and fist pumps! Not 200, not 201 but 202!!! What a great moment!

I’m putting together a little video that I should have done tomorrow and will add to this thread, but for now here are some pictures to give you a little recap!

Thank you to my team, and all of my awesome customers that came out! Great times and I certainly appreciate the support a great deal.

I was able to drive my TSM Pro eight to the event from Orlando, FL and hit the track with these guys. I think I counted 12 TopSpeed GTR's. What a great event and Cicio made all of us feel welcome. Was such a blast hanging out with the entire crew. I always learn so much. After my runs and Doug doing his magic I just watch in awe how fast these GTR's are. Oh yeah! It was HOT, Like Cicio said! The next day, I drove her home (570 miles one way) and had some steak and beers!

Thanks to all the guys at TopSpeed. Just a wonderful weekend!

Congrads again unabomber! We had fun. If I would have remembered to put my damn car in R-Mode once we got down to the starting line I think we would have had 2 x 200mph + passes at the same time. All I can say is that for my first 1/2 mile event ever and first time driving the car on the new build which was completed only a few weeks ago, Ill take my 198.4 mph. Every run was 190+ with multiple 195-199. 7-8 runs. No issues. Impressive. Thats except for turning the OEM rotors with endless pads so blue you could sell them as faux titanium rotors. Car drove well. Motec traction control is oh so nice once dialed in. Makes anyone look good almost. I only had to pedal it on 2 runs in second gear really. Motec system did the work 90+% of the time. I like this venue. Its a little drive from the Atlanta area but very nice scenery. Hanging out with everyone back at the cabin Saturday night was fun. Even more of a team/family aura. Makes a huge difference to have TSM there in support. Active tuning and other adjustments at the event clearly makes a difference. Thanks again. Time for some new rotors and pads. Plan on making FL2k. Jason

Great runs!

What are your thoughts on the rear duckbill you have vs the stock piece at these speeds? Both in terms of stability and drag I'm wondering how they compare.
