Quick little update on the car.

We had the car for testing on the track on Thursday at MSR doing the 1.7 CCW.  YES ON THE ROAD COURSE!!!!

The car did great.  I'm SO happy to have the car on the track.  Still some thing to do but wanted to update things.

1.  The bigger cooler for the power steering seems to work! No seeping of the fluid from the top of the Powersteering canister = no more sock!!!  Might be something cheap people can do when they have they have the front apart.

2. We simplified the cooling system and got rid of the Laminova.  We have a rear trans cooler and the temps were awesome on a hot day at the track.  Also with the dry sump.  Oil temps didnt budge....but

3.  We did have coolant temps.  Plan some ducting work and running more water.  Will see.  Could only do 15 mins on a sessions so far.

4.  Have stiffer springs but car felt floaty.  I dialed the tractive DDA to full hard and the car felt much better.  Will need to play with this a bit more and see if we need more spring.

5.  larger front aero going in.  The lip is already reinforced but a bit more will be needed.  Debating going to a taller rear upright to balance the rear.

6.  Still some exterior and electrical items to button up.  Some cool stuff with the Motec and the laptimer software built in and the tire temp monitors.

7.  the car then will go down to Austin to get the wheel wells 3D mapped for the planned 19x13s from Finspeed to finally get fitted.

Close to the finish line!

oh and the power is nuts...chased down a 911 cup car pretty easily on slicks.

Congrats on finally getting it back out again! PM me if you want to chat sometime about the front aero. I’ve been doing a lot of homework on that topic lately and would love to help if I can.

Cheers!

Bob did you put the wider rear wing on? That might help more than the taller uprights

Based on the photos I would likely agree. It looks like it’s getting clean air already. Longer and wider chord would be the next step, or move up to dual or triple elements.

the plan was to run the Kumho Viper rear tires but square...the 335s

or the Hoosier R7s

probably slicks in the future but wanted to have a tire I can drive on the street.

Elf!  sending you a PM

about the wing.  It is the longer one, current the longest they have for the active wing.  They did just make a non active wing with a longer and wider chord.  I've been emailing back and forth with them.

the static wing is 76" with a 13" chord.  Mine is 72"/10.2"...they say in testing its making about 30-40% more downforce than what I have.

the upright that would raise the wing looks like this.

and the bigger wing/chord/taller

Edit: showed my daughter this and she asked how much does the pint weigh ? She said she needs one if it’s not too heavy to throw on her backpack
