We're looking for some help for the TX2K14 live video stream this year!

Specifically, we need some volunteers to spend some time being director of the feed - selecting the active camera view and manning the chat room to make sure everything is working. It's pretty easy work and we can train you on how to do at the track in a few minutes. We're looking for people to cover shifts of a couple hours, or even more if interested.

Okay, you have my cell # Tim. All I need to do is check my kids' spring break schedule to make sure it doesn't conflict, we are going on a trip over spring break with the travel trailer.

Let me say that the tx2k video feed was a blast this last year.  everyone that tuned in loved it and really appreciated that we had it. the sound was perfect where people could even hear the announcer. and we had several cameras setup so all we had to do was hit a keyboard button or two to switch cameras when cars took passes or if we wanted to switch cameras in the dyno rooms...  we could really use the help, and its rewarding when so many people tune in and really enjoy whats going on at the event that they couldnt get to for whatever reason. it was just a few of us working on it last year but if we could get a buncha volunteers it would help out greatly.

I might be able to lend a hand. What if we're running our cars?

It would be awesome to have multiple camera's that give multiple angles/shots/etc...like one attached to the helmet of a racer.  One in the crowd.  One on vendor row.  Another near the track.  I know, I'm dreaming here but it would be badass for viewers to be able to choose their camera.   :)

if your running a car you will have no trouble, we want to switch people out so that everyone can run cars and also enjoy the event. so if we can get people to help we can all take shifts... theres lots to do, so the more help the better then everyone can enjoy the event and help everyone at home enjoy the event as well!

good ideas peter, we can only do as much as the software and hardware we have available to us... but we had very similar ideas to aim for, id love to be able to do all of that and more!

Haha, man, you think like I do :)

Unfortunately, we are limited to a single stream due to uplink bandwidth. The uplink bandwidth is what determines the quality of the stream too. Hennessey has a pretty good connection for being where it is, but it's still rural connectivity.

As for cameras with the driver, it's wireless, so we are limited by wifi range, and it won't reach until the end of the track reliably.

Having said this, we learned a lot last year, and we have some good ideas on more shots for this year. We have some experience under our belts now and we know the location.

Is this confirmed as I was hoping for a live stream like last year.

Hopefully something can be figured out to make it happen.

I really appreciate all the time and effort to do this for the members that can't make the event.
