Shawn,  thank you for putting the time to document all these upgrades and maintenance.  I'll be switching to Amsoil SS for the first time from Mobil1 and pardon me if i missed it, but what oil filter have you been using?

Nismo veruspeed is my preferred filter.

But the Mitsubishi ones, Subaru ones, and anything from champion labs is fantastic.  Nissan was making one that was garbage, but they appear to have switched suppliers.  Amsoil also has great filters as well, but finding one that fits is sometimes a challenge.  They don't like to make many.

Thanks Shawn, I'll check the nismo filter out. Yeah, I was going to see if Wix made a filter for gtr, since that's what I use on my other vehicles (civic and minivan)

41995 miles.

Finished replacing shocks with all 2012 shocks and springs.  Rears were a pain in the butt....pun intended.

Sweet. Let us know how you go!

340 track miles at VIR.  They are better than R888's (the originals).  The car still has a little "plow" in it with these tires, but still awfully good.

Anybody want to see a picture of the wear?

Yep. Wanna see all the pictures. 340 track miles is crazy. Are you dizzy?

Nope. Not dizzy. 55 gallons of fuel used. One entire brake reservoir emptied from brake pad wear (lots of pad left). Lots of fun had.

55 gal of Sunoco 93 with 10% ethanol. We don't get 91 here, or much e85 around.

I had the POS service done, and had the GT-R "street" alignment done. So, not much, but I don't remember the exact values. I did it to save tire wear. My inner tire was suffering some kind of bad with the "performance" alignment.

Things you weren't expecting.....

When changing wheels preparing for the gtrlife complimentary GT-R owner event at VIR for this weekend.... both inner pads on my carbon brakes are down to less than serviceable life. I have no other carbon suitable pads...

So these babies had to come out of the bullpen....

Stillen 390 AP racing j hooks. They fit nice.

Detail on the RB caliper and how it's designed to accommodate larger rotors naturally:
